This is where we keep track of minor cleanups which still need to be done inside the ClusterResourceManager[1] code-base. This is the one issue which probably won't ever get completely resolved

There are no FIFOs. It's all sockets.

A UUID variable should not be named _uid. That's confusing.

AndrewBeekhof[2] responds to this slanderous alegation... I believe you will no longer find any references to fifos and it is safe to close this issue now
